Week 4 Reflection: Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

This week I took a look at the blog, Eduational Technology and Mobile Learning which is a great resource for educational web tools and apps. Composed of a great deal of technological ideas for teachers, the biggest one that stood out to me as a future music educator was the blog, A Must Have Chrome App For Music Teachers, which talks about an app called “Noteflight.”

noteflyTrying out this app for myself I can definitely vouch for what blog says about it. A great thing about this app is that it’s free for students to use so it’s not some app that you have to have your students find a way to puchase it or have to purchase yourself.  Having a lot of experience with different music making software this one is definitely a reliable use for students first starting off with music writing, and this blog is great for other resoureces such as this one.

Another great blog I looked at on this website is for the Art Education side of things called, 3 Great Resources for Free Historical Art Works to Use in Class. This blog is exactly what it says and gives links to three awesome websites for historical art works, Google’s Cultrue Institute, The Getty, and The Brit9ish Library. This kind of blog and these kind of resources would be great for higher level art classes to have students do research on different artists or specific art works in their fields. Or even have them repilicate or modify an already made piece of art.

This blog has a whole lot of other great resources and recommend this blog like all the others  to other educators looking for ideas to incorporate technology into their classroom.
